Biography |
Phil mentioned recently that his wife was going to be running the Bristol half marathon in order to raise money for CLIC. He then said that he was thinking of taking the easier option of throwing himself out of a plane. As old school friends we just couldn't stand by and let him take the easy option, so we found what looked like the most painful, humiliating and exhausting challenge we could (see more).......and then we stupidly signed up to do it with him.
This is for good reason though: Phil's 2 year old daughter has had a tough year, going through an operation and more recently undergoing treatment at Bristol Children's Hospital. Throughout this challenging period CLIC Sargent have provided valuable support for the family and helped them to get on with as normal a life as possible.
This 24sevenchallenge weekend is a great opportunity for us to give something back. We don't know ourselves yet exactly what we'll be doing - as we raise more money, more is revealed. We do know that it will be a tough combination of running, cycling, canoeing and more - over the distance of a marathon. We also know that the more money you give, the more help we are given to complete the challenge. So help us out!
We don't want christmas presents this year or the pint you were going to buy us the next time we see you. Just take a few minutes to consider:
(1) The great work that CLIC Sargent do
(2) The amount of effort we're putting in to this challenge!
.....then dig deep and sponsor us as much as you are willing (and please provide enough info so CLIC can claim the extra gift aid). We'll make sure we show you some pictures of us looking absolutely wiped out, as evidence once we've completed it.
