the event

24seven participants must combine physical and mental skills to complete seven challenges over a 24 hour period. Visual awareness, endurance, patience and problem solving are just some of the skills you will need to complete the 24seven adventure challenge. Physical fitness is important, but you don't need to be Superman or Wonder Woman to take part.

To register for this event, we require a non-refundable deposit of £75 per individual, or £225 per team of three. This includes your meals during the event and one night's camping accommodation for the challenge. Following entry, you will be given the option to upgrade your accomodation if desired.

On signing up to 24seven, you will receive a unique user ID and password to access your fundraising wall. Every participant must raise a minimum of £300 sponsorship for CLIC Sargent. As you raise funds, your wall will reveal a series of benefits and rewards to help you achieve 24seven. The more you raise - the more rewards you will earn and the better your chance of ultimate success.

What will I / my team be doing at 24seven?

24Seven comprises a number of individual 'challenges', some of which will test the body; some the mind... and some both! Expect to travel on foot, on bike and on water at different times and to cover the equivalent of a marathon distance in total... perhaps more if navigation is not your strong point! We think we are giving too much away already, but have been asked to give you an insight into the challenges, so here goes...

'Adventure Prologue' - In a Le Mans style start, you will cover 8 miles by foot, bike and canoe to kick start your 24 hour challenge. This is just the beginning...

'Piecing it Together' - Pit your mental dexterity against the other challengers by solving this complex puzzle...

'Journey of Discovery' - Against the clock, you will have to complete a 10 mile distance on foot, keeping your eyes pealed for the vital items you need to collect for your next challenge ahead

'Tower of Strength' - Construct your own tower of strength using a particular style of 'brick'

'Total Recall'  - Travel 6 miles on mountain bike to a number of marked locations before a test of your memory skills

'Water Torture' - Navigate 2.6 miles on foot to a marked location to collect a specific item, returning over varied terrain to the start. This will involve water, skill and a lot of patience!

'Charity Challenge' - Raise a minimum £300 to take part in 24seven. Each and every penny raised contributes to your ultimate goal - to raise funds for children with cancer. However, the more you raise, the more it will help towards your overall success, with rewards and benefits being earned along the way!

Will I / we be on the go for the whole 24 hours?

'Physically'? No, 'Mentally'? Hmmmm... Let's just say that food, refreshments and camping accommodation (if required) are included in your entry and we expect the vast majority of participants to have some down time to refresh and recover between some of the challenges. But the clock will always be ticking!

So how fit do I / we need to be?

24seven will undoubtedly be a genuine physical and mental challenge and the inspiring location and terrain selected for the event will certainly add to this. But every challenge will allow those with more limited skill and fitness backgrounds to take part. Indeed, mental dexterity, careful planning and smart thinking will count for just as much as how fit you are. We would however recommend that 24seven participants exercise on a regular basis and are comfortable with the idea of riding a mountain bike (preferably in the right direction!). For safety reasons we recommend that you are able to swim at least 25 metres without assistance.

What equipment will I / we require?

We will be sending out more information closer to the event itself regarding footwear, apparel and accessories (such as back packs, etc) but right now the key items that you need to bring to the event will be a mountain bike and helmet. If you don't own a bike yourself or would prefer not to bring your own then we will be able to assist with bike hire for the event. If you would like more information please contact us.

What plans should I / we make for accommodation?

Included in your entry fee is the option for free camping accommodation for the Saturday night. If wishing to take up this option you will need to be self-sufficient in terms of your tent and contents. Please note we cannot guarantee availability at the campsite unless you pre-book in advance. In due course we will also send your more information regarding the range of accommodation options available in the area. We would like to alert you to the fact that we have a strictly limited number of ensuite rooms available right beside the Challenge HQ. Booking information will be released closer to the event but to register your interest and receive priority notification contact us as soon as possible.
